Hi,
I reviewed my favourite 102 songs on a blog during my shielded lockdown, and now converted it to a book.
The Kindle (Ebook) version is now free for the next 4 days on all Amazon sites. I would appreciate any downloads and reviews.
Hopefully there are many Afterword-friendly artists (The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Richard Thompson, Jason Isbell, Kirsty MacColl, Kathleen Edwards, Leonard Cohe, R.E.M., etc) contained.
Thank

In other countries – just put my name into your Amazon.
Last day to get a free copy of the ebook.
Grabbed! Thanks!
That was quick ! Thanks
Free – of course I did!
Thanks !
And knowing how Amazon works we should all write a review!
Yes ! That would be great.
I think i am now at the point of just wanting people to read it, rather than make huge amounts of money. So I will probably reduce the kindle prices after the free period.
reduce the kindle price after the free period ! So you will pay us – excellent. I think I will wait.
Only if it matches the Leo Sayer bag reviews!
Or indeed the Paul Ross mug.
Dipping into it, as the blog, just now. Lovely writing, the affection for the songs abundant. I don’t ‘do’ Kindle. A small print run?
Thanks for thr kind words. It is really a labour of liove than any great literary work.
You can also buy a print copy on Amazon.too, but sadly it is not free. Here is the UK link https://www.amazon.co.uk/Songs-Quarantine-David-Plumbley/dp/B08FKS7YMK/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1598089142&sr=1-1
You can click on”look inside” on that page, to see if it is the kind of thing you would like, before you commit.
Mmm, on my list. Cheers.
Thank you. I shall look forward to reading it.
Thank you, looks good to dip into, and some excellent songs reviewed. Fine piece of work.
Thanks so much !
@Dplumbley I downloaded the file to my Mac book but it wont recognise an azw3 file.
It is a Macbook so it won’t load a Kindle app. Do you or anyone else know how I can read this on my MacBook?
@junior-wells You can get the Kindle app on the App Store. Failing that, Calibre app will happily deal with anything you throw at it.
Sorted ,with this sort of customer service @mikethep you’d be ideal to run something like say a remote outback cafe and vintage car museum.
*Blush*
@Dplumbley – thanks; have downloaded and Amazon tells me I have saved myself £6.50 into the bargain. Some interesting song choices there; look forward to dipping into it. And congratulations- that’s a great lockdown achievement.
Thanks !
I think that is compared to the paperback price. The Kindle version had saved you £3.
Thanks, look forward to reading this.
Thank you. I think I’ll enjoy this!
Got it. Although it may take me a while to get to it (I’m having difficulty ‘finishing’ these days and have a large stack next to the bed – tmi?)
Thanks – downloaded, looking forward to reading it. Going to go straight to the Bruce section first 😀😀
Thanks – downloaded. I’ll read it over the coming days.
Thanks so much for everyone who downloaded it yesterday. I noticed it was the 3rd most popular free music ebook.
Three days left.
I’ll be getting my grubby mitts on a copy – cheers for this. If I knew how to do that thumbs-up emoji thing, I’d be doing it right now.
And I would give you an up back, if I knew.
👌👍👍downloaded and will give it a read.
Thank you.
Free !
About music !
I’ve downloaded and shall look forward to reading it.
Thanks
Downloaded and looking forward to reading it. Thank you.
Thank you.
It’s now in my Kindle library.
Nice quirky set of selections.
I am having another free day today (Saturday 5th), so if you missed it the first time. I would appreciate any reviews.
Thank you for the (re)heads-up.
Duly Kindled!
Read it last night – I impressed.
Thanks very much !
More of a dip-into than a cover-to-cover read for me, I think.
Well-written vignettes sorta kinda thing.
Hi, just a quick update about my writing, if anyone is interested.
So far approximately 3,500 people have downloaded my book, which makes me feel so happy.
Most were free downloads, but that is fine as I just wanted to share it.
It is currently should be permanently free on Kindle for US and UK Amazon, if anyone missed it before –
And I enjoyed the process and discipline of writing, that I published my second book last week, a labour of love about my beloved football team.
The Kindle version is free this weekend (Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th).
David Plumbley – Red Delight: Liverpool’s 150 Greatest Matches
Feel free to help yourself !
Ah, you lost me there. For no rational reason whatsoever I hate Liverpool , the city, the football club, Scouser pie ( ?) etc et bloody cetera. All those twassocks singing “You’ll never walk alone” . Yes you will and then you’ll find yourself in Albert Dock and wonder “Why oh why did UNESCO do this to us?” Cos you are all twassocks, that’s why
