I recently read that Ringo’s suggestion for the title of “Revolver” was “After Geography” – a riposte to the title of the then current Rolling Stones LP “Aftermath”. Not the best of Ringo’s humour – for example he came up with the line “A Hard Day’s Night”. And asked what he thought of Beethoven’s music he said “I like his poems”.
Then there’s Noel’s assessment of Liam “he’s like a fork in a world of soup”. Or more recently “I got on well with my Mum till she had Liam” (or words to that effect).
I know there are others. I’m NOT talking about witty lines in songs, otherwise I’d quote most of Randy Newman’s oeuvre. I mean reported quotes from interviews etc.
