Hi to my chums, here on the AW site.
Four years ago I asked could you, my AW pals, sponsor my 6.5 mile walk at Crosby in aid of Parkinson’s UK. You helped me raise £500 a big thank you for that.
Although I have had PD and arthritis for 8 years now, I can still walk a mile or three and I put this down to regular exercise.
I have found benefit from Boxing, Gym classes and Tai Chi.
However, I have found nothing that beats the weekly “Neuro Moves” dance classes which a dozen of us attend regularly.
Moving to music not only helps me physically, it also lowers my anxiety and boosts my mood no end.
From a set dance pattern to say Peter Gabriel’s “In Your Eyes” to a rather surprising free improvisation to an unexpected “Grantchester Meadows” by the Floyd, this is a special group meeting in an accessible safe secure environment.
Funding of these classes in the Preston area has dried up recently and we are in dire danger of being cancelled.

Indeed. No class this Friday as Half Term week. Come 8pm, my feet will be twitching.
Mind you, we’re off to the NEC for the campervan show for the day, so come 8pm I’ll probably be snoozing on the sofa.

Tried to donate to the GoFundMe, but it won’t let me – either via PayPal or credit card, saying something about international regulations. (I have the same issue donating to this site) – anyone else in the overseas AW gang having this issue ?
I’ll see if I can circumvent the restrictions using one of my sterling accounts.
It isn’t just you. For some reason, I could not pay by PayPal (where the funds come out of my credit card). But I was able to donate with my credit card (the payment was processed by… PayPal). You couldn’t make it up, etc.
