I don’t post on here often but have been a member since the demise of the Word Magazine and this forum gives me great joy which brings me to the reason for this post. Upon retiring earlier this year I have been doing all the things one puts off as never having the time. Reading good books, catching up on lots of brilliant music ( live as well through the speakers ) holidays and rereading my old word magazines. Once brought down from the loft, blown off the dust I went about seeing if I kept them all, alas no I was missing a fair few so I went eBay shopping and had great fun trying to make my collection complete. I have 113 .. one short issue 17 July 2004
Do any of you have that issue, happy to pay the going rate postage etc ?
If not do you know of where I could go to get one ?

Digging out my Words from the attic for a re-read has been on my to-do list for a while.
Also need to find them to remind myself what my first issue was so I could try to complete my set too. The list of its covers on Wikipedia doesn’t help me identify where I came on. It was definitely after the Dido cover, so maybe somewhere between 10 and 20?
So if anyone with a weird inclination to throw stuff out is ever getting rid of their early issues, I’m somewhere in the queue of good homes for them to move to.
I have had the occasional glance on eBay but it’s not the easiest of titles to search for without getting results full of puzzle magazines.
I have a few magazines which I have doubled up on when buying from eBay so will found which issues they are and report back.

How wedded to physical magazines are you? I have searchable scans of Issues 3, 4, 5 19 and a few later ones if you want me to sort out a download link for you.
I should check my former barber in Toronto. An Italian apparently well over 70 who surprisingly had a bunch of Word magazines in his waiting area
I have all except issue 1, I think*. If anybody has a spare, please let me know. I read it in WH Smiths.

Apologies for the delay – been busy with work. I’ve just had a look in the garage, and unfortunately, l don’t have a spare copy of that issue, although it has prompted me to re-read some of the other ones. Good luck with the hunting.
I have all issues of Word apart from the first few and one from 2009 that got lost in my last house move.
I’ll be getting rid of them soon, I think, as they’re just gathering dust and taking up space. I’m highly unlikely to ever re-read them.
I would be very happy to take them off your hands for whatever price you would want for them. I’m inspired after reading the copies that Bejesus sent me and kicking myself for missing out on them at the time. The magazine really shows up what is on offer nowadays – Mojo, Uncut and Record Collector – for the lacklustre uninspired efforts they are.
