Obituary
Low have announced on twitter the death of their wonderful lead singer Mimi Parker. She had ovarian cancer. She had a magnificent voice, and was the partner in life as well as music of the band’s Alan Sparhawk. It’s desperately sad and a terrible loss, above all for Alan and their two children. RIP.
I saw them a few times, including at Liverpool Cathedral in 2013 or 14 which I remember as one of the best gigs I’ve seen in the last ten years. When she sang Holy Ghost in the majestic setting of the cathedral it was an extraordinary moment that I will treasure.

I’m truly saddened by this terrible news.
It’s true, I couldn’t get my head around the weirder new stuff, but for a while they were the best band in the world. Try to sleep, Mimi.
Sad indeed – Recently I’ve been listening to the only Low album I posess – The Great Destroyer – and thinking I should explore further.
