The co-founder of Blue Horizon Records, producer for John Mayall, Clapton, Fleetwood Mac and many other Blues greats has passed at 81.

Yes I saw that. He produced some classic records. Of course there’s a podcast with him for the curious.
He was one of Rocky Sharpe and The Replays in his spare time… but what a producer!

Less known, I think, that he was a huge part of Focus’ success – recorded/produced several of their albums.

I spoke to my friend, engineer Tony Harris, last night. He worked with Mike on several projects and said he was a brilliant producer and a really good man. He said a day in a studio with Mike was a day you enjoyed the trip to work.
He produced a very complete Peter Green Fleetwood Mac box set, lots of outtakes and detailed notes. It’s a little treasure
