“There’s a big difference between kneeling down and bending over”
both Frank Zappa
His ad-libs could be genius.

Bloody Hell, I’ve changed. I’d rather the student disco funk of the 1981 Goldsmiths intake to bloody “Olias of Sunhillow”.

I love this set of bad album reviews.

I pay more attention to them here than any music mag (who needs ’em now when we have each other?). I trust the judgement of The Massive in their different oeuvres more than music hacks (if they even still exist), […]

I don’t think anyone misses the useless Izal toilet paper. Never has form and function been less integrated. Apparently the Queen Mother liked it. Suffer, baby, suffer.
I used to like Texan Bars. A solid chew […]

Precisely. If it has pan pipes, I’m out. Likewise didgeridoos, throat singing, earnest choirs of African singers, or 10 minute one-key afrobeat guitar solos. I pretended to like all this stuff in the 1980s […]

A great review. I had concerns this might be limpid ethno-tasteful wallpaper, but it sounds more like a Pat Metheny Group type excursion, and given PM is drifting back to limpid after the last album’s exciting […]

“Nerk ” was presumably used to replace that fine all purpose term of off nice/ endearment, “cnut” (anagram.).

Point of information: perfect use of the word “pranny” on The Troggs Tape.

I use many of these archaisms. We have recently had to-the-death Scrabble games, and “fanny”, “mufti”, and “roundel” all emerged. It’s all excitement in our house.
