Here’s a little something in 1972/2022 for you to assess how much Bowie had progressed since his 1972 breakthrough:

Is it Any Wonder? is a six-track EP by David Bowie that was released in early 2020. It is composed mostly of older Bowie songs that Bowie re-recorded during his Earthling (1997) recording sessions and Earthling […]

I believe released a few years back was an ep of Earthling out-takes that I’m thinking about listening to and reviewing. is this worth doing? In other words, what are those two Tin Machine tracks like?

I’m not offended or anything. Just thought I’d explain myself and where I’m coming from. I never really got on with Penman or Morley after about mid 1979 or thereabouts. I used to enjoy the gonzo-ism of Steven […]

Anyone know/listened to the Leon Suites. Any opinion on this. Pretentious indulgence or breath taking genius? Does it merit a commercial release?

Definitely a better listen but still a bit patchy and not quite my choice. Lots of love for Oxford Town and Architect’s Eyes which I can’t quite hear which probably reinforces my hunch that the album will be even […]

Hi, well I am a child of punk rock, grew up with the late 70’s NME as my bible and actually lament the passing of the opinionated hatchet job in today’s ‘music journalism’ so forgive me for indulging my fantasies […]

As a footnote I am generally listening to these albums at home on my hifi but recently on a road trip listened to it in a car. The two instrumentals which I feel break up the pace of the album and are possibly […]

On Dai’s comment on 1.Outside I am just about to start on this and am somewhat trepidatious as what I know so far, – arty Bowie, a pretentious concept, lots of tracks – doesn’t exactly match my preferred […]

I’ll try to explain myself on my Frampton comment. as it was a bit of a cheap throwaway shot. I don’t really know much of his work having only been exposed to his work twice. In 1976 and looking for something […]

Well spotted. Originally I wrote “over 24 hours” and then realised that it was in fact over 2 days but I failed to make the full correction.

If I leave out Tin Machine it nicely makes 12 albums in 12 months. As I appear to be getting ahead of myself timewise I am thinking maybe I should at least give Tin Machine a listen and possibly report back.
