That sounds very credible. A similar thing happened, @Sniffity, when popular Swedish actor and comedian Hasse Alfredsson got to tell the story of the Monkey King. He wasn’t given any manuscript so he just made […]

@kaisfatdad @sniffity I bet the memory of your pain still brings a smile to their exhausted faces while they enjoy a post-coital biggie after several hours of energetically sweaty Tantric couplings

“Robert Shearwood and Sue Johnson snogging in the back of the bus on a Year 11 excursion.” What a trauma! I can feel your pain, @Sniffity! Some memories never leave us.

The monorail is defnitely futuristic. But it’s remarkable how that station is in the middle of nowhere @Sniffity. According to that interview with Norma Herrmann, Truffaut spoke very little English, so it […]

Great stuff @Sniffity. Those strings are splendid. But that certainly does not look like a fire engine of the future. And the telephone must have been an antique even back in 1966! Hermann had a long, very […]

These guys are hilarious, @Sniffity in a wonderfully dry, Aussie way. I can’t help help being reminded of Barry Mackenzie-

I’m glad you mentioned Francis Lai, @Sniffity. Yet another fascinating character who I’ve learnt about thanks to this thread. He was Edith Piaf’s accordionist and went on to write the theme for Une homme et […]

A WW2 POW escape movie with added elephant which looks like it’s all happening in 1969. Nice one,@Sniffity! I can’t help but be a little fascinated.

Yes indeed @Viva Avalanche! Suspiria is even better when seen in a cinema. If you can. “The music is almost a member of the cast”. What a great quote, @Sniffity! And one which applies to several of the films […]

Two real finds @Sniffity! All seven episodes of the series are on YouTube too. As you say, it was very highly praised. Here’s Oppenheimer himself interviewed in 1965. A man with a great weight on his shoulders.
