My best car was also an Alfa 156. I absolutely loved it. Mine was unusual in that it was totally reliable over ten years and 100k.

Ah, I have the same cheapo edition. It’s crap.

There is a stereo mix. I have it. You’re not missing anything. It’s a three track recording so you get vocals down the middle, the wrecking crew in one channel and the string section in the other.

Bugger. Bought loads in there over the years. Will also leave a huge empty shop right on College Green.

Signs of the Times! I’ve wanted to see that series again for years.

Thank you for posting this.

I had a barium enema many years ago. Colonoscopy is a breeze by comparison. Worst bit was after it was over I was shown to the loo and asked if I wanted a cup of tea. The nurse brought me the tea as I sat on the […]

I have them every two years because of a medical condition. As others have said, it’s not as bad as you might fear. But the prep is pretty horrible.

Don’t believe them when they tell you that the stuff you take […]

There are a couple of hifi sites where people who know a lot about this kind of stuff hang out. If the kit looks like it has valves try http://www.hifiwigwam.com. If it looks more like it has transistors try http://www.pinkfishmedia.net.

Those SHF guys drive me nuts with their wave form pictures that prove that records don’t sound good. They never seem to listen with their ears…

I wasn’t going to buy in to this one – I have plenty of copies of Sgt Pepper in the house – but I streamed it from Spotify to the stereo this afternoon and I’m impressed. I’ve always preferred the mono mix, but […]

I have a Denon that I bought about fifteen years ago. Still sounds amazing.

More Rega love here. I had a P3 for years before getting upgrade fever. I can’t recommend their cartridges though. I fitted a Denon DL110 which made a huge difference.

Time Chasers! Was that the one where a guy turned his light aircraft into a time machine? A truly terrible film.

This is tremendous news. Netflix subscription renewed!

Definitely instant coffee granules. I could taste it. I’m sure the vodka was real, he looked suitably refreshed. Still turned in a great performance, as did they all. Do you know why Rebecca Taylor left the stage early?

You must have been standing just in front of us at the beginning. I hadn’t seen that fence before either, but it was certainly needed last night.

You’re a brave man staying at the front of that crowd last night. I retreated to the middle distance after being walloped on the back of the head by a full pint glass at the beginning of Sweet Saturn Mine. I can’t […]

I love that run of albums from Love it to Death to Billion Dollar Babies. I even rather like Muscle of Love, which nobody else appears to like at all.

I’m reading this at the moment, and all of your criticisms are bang on.

It’s a great disappointment because I was really looking forward to it.

Had tickets in the basket for the Colston Hall, but their servers were so overloaded that I did not manage to pay for them before it took them away because I had not completed the transaction in ten minutes. Not happy.
