Good review of a fine album. As I have the original already plus the CD singles I think I’ll have to pass at £33.

I’ve just binge watched Black Bird on Appletv. A little reminiscent in tone and subject matter of season one of True Detective. Well worth a look if you have Appletv.
Enjoyed Sandman too, maybe not as much a […]

Neil Jung commented on the post, Danny Baker selling his entire record collection – 14,000 3 years, 6 months ago
I sold my “collection” of 7” singles to The Sound Machine in Reading. I never played them but thought that when I retired I definitely would. I didn’t. I was expecting maybe £150 to £200 for them. I got £65.
But […] -

This 6 disc set is currently (23/7) only £26.40, almost 50% off at Amazon. Don’t all rush at once.

I saw Rod Stewart. He was abysmal.
Charles called her Mummy.
What I saw was brilliantly staged but largely toe-curlingly awful. Apart from the Paddington bit and the drones. -

Very much so, if you like late period Talk Talk. I bought a vinyl copy for a friend. He liked it so much he bought the CD too so he could put it on his iPod. It’s on streaming services. The band are active on FBook.

Ethel? I love how the old names are coming back. She has an interesting voice. Will investigate further.
I am mostly listening to Held By Trees, the band of ex Talk Talk musicians.

ICYMI there’s a new instrumental album out by Held By Trees which is new music made by musicians who played on latter day Talk Talk albums and Hollis’ solo album. It’s very good indeed. It’s on Spotify etc.

I always struggle to get into his books but when I persevere am usually amply rewarded. However, as hinted above, his usual plot of one man’s redemption whilst being let down by an uncaring senior Government o […]

Blimey what an ordeal! Best wishes for the future. I hope you can quickly learn to cope with the loss of the finger.
Any idea how you got it?

I watched it. It was absolutely fascinating watching actual footage of what we had seen in the slightly fictional version in the recent Chernobyl tv series. As you say, the parallels are chilling.

I liked Butterfly House so picked up 3 of their other CDs (including the debut) from charity shops. Unfortunately I hate all of them!

I’ve had this on double vinyl (it was cheap without a sleeve) for donkeys years but have hardly ever played it. I should try it again. He’s always great live, unless he’s doing unnecessary covers of Neil’s songs. […]

That’s for the reminder. I’ll stream it immediately. Then I’ll almost certainly buy it.

I bought it after reading a review in Prog and playing a few songs on Spotify. Some of it reminds me of Ryley Walker, which the Uncut review I subsequently found also spotted. I suggested to Henry he should play […]

I ordered it. I’ve played it twice and I’m sorry to say I don’t think I like it. I really liked his last three rock albums but this seems to be a sprawling, unfocused, incoherent, noisier than usual, erm, mess.
