Neela commented on the post, The many voices of Bob Dylan 6 years, 4 months ago
Dylan has been so many different characters and there’s so much smoke and mirrors, with very personal songs sometimes hiding in plain sight (both fond of claiming it’s NOT about them). He and Bowie have more in […]

I’m assuming this is US only, considering the large amount of country artists. Who the hell is Alabama?

It seems I have some catching up to do. The fact you don’t agree is probably a good thing.

Good night, Terry. Thanks for all the laughs. I will keep on watching Life Of Brian every Easter.

Revisited Quantum Of Solace, expecting a terrible movie. Hadn’t seen it in a long time, if at all since it first came out. It is a step down from the heights of Casino Royale, but it’s not THAT bad. Still on my […]

I think his voice, unlike Crosby’s, left long ago. You can hear evidence as early as CSNY 1974.

R.E.M. not so famously once became their own opening act as Bingo Hand Job.

@fatima-Xberg
Stills was the driving force, a one man orchestra, until Young wrote Ohio and it became a huge hit.What Stills did to his career (and life) is really sad. He deserves a renaissance a la Crosby.

I don’t know if I take the Hall Of Fame seriously, or if the band do. But if they’re gonna have a Hall Of Fame, DM should be in there. In terms of electronic bands they’re probably second only to Kraftwerk when it […]

One Percy ‘Thrills’ Thrillington once did an orchestrated version of Paul McCartney’s album Ram. (Don’t you mean Paul and Linda’s album? Yes. Sorry.)

They keep doing them, so someone must be buying. God bless the idiots.
I like buying them, but I seem to have eleven that I haven’t gotten around to reading. What I could have done for that heard earned cash […]

I wouldn’t mind a Bowiecast. And Neil Young. And The Beach Boys. The lovely Sunflower is 50 this year and won’t get a massive boxed reappraisal. Some digital stuff seems to be on its way though.

In The Aeroplane Over The Sea was apparently released in 1998, when I was allegedly not a teen anymore, but still. Swedish pop magazine Pop wrote a lot about it at the time.

When I (tried to) grew up in the nineties, Neutral Milk Hotel were huge with socially awkward teenagers with glasses, greasy hair and sweaty handshakes. So it should be popular around here, even it’s mostly the […]
