It’s all about “the press” now isn’t it. And “group” instead of team, and “project” instead of football clubs. Pressurised was the word they used all the time on the commentary for a while which used to annoy me.

I was a well known furniture shop in Abu Dhabi a while back and I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night) by The Electric Prunes was playing. They have a section with noveltyish wooden sign boards there and in the […]

For years I always thought Eruption’s “One Way Ticket” was to the moon. I only released a few years go that it was a one way ticket to the blues. Must have been due to those sparkly sci-fi outfits they wore […]

No Jaygee, it was probably less than 10 years ago. It probably has changed a lot, we still enjoyed it very much though

I saw it when it first aired and wouldn’t watch it again. Possibly the most bleak and depressing thing ever put on the telly

There’s so many chip shops mentioned on here that I first read your post as the same and wondered what on earth that’s got to to do with fish and chips, not even a decent pun in there.

Yes, I remember the rooftop at the Rex as well. It had that feeling of history there. I’m sure I’d seen it feature in a film as well (or maybe it was a mock-up of it). It felt quite familiar when we got there

I remember being in a slightly Apocalypse Now themed craft beer pub in Saigon a few years ago. I can’t for the life of me remember the name though. And I have a feeling there is/was a chain of them. It’s bee […]

That House of Love EP was one of the best things they did in the post-Bickers incarnation. Girl With The Loneliest Eyes, Purple Killer Rose, Tea in The Sun, Pink Frost. Four absolute crackers there

Doledrums was the first thing of theirs that I heard on Peel back when I was in my teens and I’ve been a fan ever since. We finally got to see him live a couple of times when we moved to New Zealand and it was a […]

I’d also recommend Argentina 1985 about the trials of the juntas. It’s very emotional but has enough artiness in the direction that its two and half hour running time flies by. Gripping stuff

We watched Kaurismaki’s proletariat trilogy the other week which was an experience. I’m glad we did but it’s hard to describe it all. They were full of humour, very humdrum but quite grim at the same time. Al […]
