Never read the book, seen the film or even heard the Gigspanner project (despite being a massive Edgelarks fan), so I don’t have an emotional investment in the Salt Path drama. I read the Observer article and t […]

murkey commented on the post, Substack – anyone tried it? 7 months, 2 weeks ago
Cheers, I think I’m following you back. The thing with Substack is that it feels worthwhile just to have it ‘out there’ even if I only have five people seeing each post, rather than a poxy Tweet or FB post which […]

murkey commented on the post, Substack – anyone tried it? 7 months, 2 weeks ago
I’m on there (for free) and rather enjoying it, having spent the last 20 years telling people I’ll never do a blog! I’m sharing music stuff, digging out old articles from fRoots days, recommending gigs, using […]

I rarely book ahead, and think all I’ve paid for so far is the Oysterband in Canterbury and Peggy Seeger in London, both on final tours (I’ve been to a lot of those of late – 2024 saw be attending them by Show of […]

murkey commented on the post, Mojo/Word cover CDs to a good home? 1 year, 2 months ago
Well, I really don’t need more CDs and got rid of a bunch of magazine comps when I moved recently, but I hate the idea of they getting chucked! If you find yourself heading into London at any point Metal Mickey…

I was there in real life. I agree about Camplight but am very surprised Marika Hackman didn’t come across well – for me and my friend she was the absolute highlight (and we’d never heard of her before). Olivia Cha […]

I’ve been to every Glastonbury since 2000 and still have never seen Coldplay. The thing is, I like them quite well enough and would be up for seeing them, it’s just they’re always up against someone I like more. […]

Yes, word was they thought they had Madonna, but couldn’t make her stage stage work to their budget, then had Stevie Wonder lined up before he also cancelled his dates. So SZA was a bit of a left-field choice but […]
