An open goal for the competitors. Yet they vanished too. It’s a cruel world.

I’m sure it will be great. However the absence of an Edinburgh gig forces me to confront the fact that RT no longer passes my Glasgow test: “Do I want to see them so much that I’ll take on the extra inconvenience […]

I was surprised because the story is such a significant part of Scorsese’s Rolling Thunder documentary. Yes, yes, I know… Doing a bit of digging, I see that he had been released on bail in early 1976 – then […]

“Great service you get, renting your TV set from Granaadaa” An industry that once had competing high street shops and has now disappeared without trace.

I’m sure someone here will know the answer to this: why was there (as far as I can see) no rendition of Hurricane on the 1976 leg?

Trump is that very rare thing – a genuinely repulsive human being. And the way that the legal apparatus seems willing to obey him, rather than the impartial exercise of justice, is a chilling echo of 1930s […]

I believe that this may be the box set you seek: https://eurekavideo.co.uk/movie/into-the-forest-folktales-at-defa-limited-edition-box-set/

Jude Rogers’ 10 Gentle Spells is excellent – there’s always something I’ve never heard/read/seen before that I feel inspired to check out.

Weird coincidence – I watched The Singing Ringing Tree this very evening. As strange and dream-like as ever.

The last time we did this, I ended up buying Michael Weston King’s Nothing can Hurt Me Anymore – and friends, let me tell you, that was a good thing. It is excellent. My other contender for album of the year is […]

John Otway and Wild Willy Barrett at Aberdeen Students’ Union in 1980. Played both Really Free and Beware of the Flowers twice. Possibly more, actually.
