My god – they’ve slowed down an already slow song! Still, at least she’s not getting all “soulful” about a magazine. I should say, I liked her from the start. I bought the debut album on the back of hearing […]

Oh, I dunno – her singing of the word “magazine” at 0:42 here is the very definition of over-singing for me. I mean, she’s singing about a magazine…

Thanks @metal-mickey That would explain it.

Top 30 in 1978, 10 years after it was recorded. Still don’t know what made it a hit, but I’m rather fond of it:

Sad news indeed. I’ve always enjoyed this story:

Only The Lonely is my all-time favourite album by anyone. The love for Watertown above is shared by me. The comp Frank Sinatra Sings The Select Cole Porter is well worth getting. To be honest, apart from the early […]

It’s not bad. Taylor’s on his usual sparkling form (as is Al) but there’s something where, for me at least, David’s chat doesn’t carry the quality (and humour) of his writing. I’ve heard the “aiming to ramp […]

It’s a very disappointing listen, smacks of a “will this do?” mentality, to which the answer from me is, no it will not. And yet you read some of the comments on the Patreon page where it’s accepted as some sort […]
