That is the first song I can remember as a child. I still haven’t forgiven them.

I don’t know. Hate seems unlikely, inspiring hatred in others -well yes. Though it can’t be entirely his fault, how others feel.

Seems like a stretch; from wanting to control immigration to hating immigrants.

Same as Gatz, I haven’t been for years – look for somewhere in Sultanahmet with good views over the Marmaris, I used to go to just such a place, with a restaurant on the top floor; but it was a budget backpacker guesthouse.

kalamo commented on the post, First 'New' Thin Lizzy album in 40 years? 1 year, 9 months ago
I have often thought that some early Lizzy does need this reboot. Specifically Remembering, which- potentially brilliant- is just a rambling chaotic mess at the end. Also, Return of the Farmer’s Son. I’m amazed […]

Didn’t Kamala Harris refuse to prosecute when a police officer was killed? Hardly the backing they were looking for. The other issues-you think are important to the US voters?

Defund the Police, nonsense about Israel, certain words becoming triggering, Universities becoming hotbeds of activism, deplatforming- there’s a lot and none of it resonant to the average voter.

The Democrats are so befuddled with identity politics and wokery that they make Donald Trump appear comparatively sensible.

I really liked that first album but once they’d got rid of Di’anno and become a pastiche metal band, that ended my interest.

I don’t know how old Eric Burdon was when he sang House of the Rising Sun. He looks about sixteen.

It’s ages since I last heard it and a recent thread led me to check out the track listing; I had been quite surprised it was rated highly. Anyway I could only remember tracks 1,2 and 5; couldn’t recall anything […]

Thanks for posting. I like the idea of Van Morrison pretending to be English for forty years to sell records in America.

Nightlife is better than it’s reputation, and the band were disappointed with the production, the material though is better than some of the later records. Philomena is typical; good song but wrong choice of single.

That acoustic version of Romeo and the Lonely Girl sounds appealing. Jailbreak itself is flawless to me and the one that the Lizzy curious should get. I’ve never really found Live and Dangerous to be as good as […]

As well as his well known works, I really liked Coming up for Air and Keep the Aspidistra Flying by George Orwell.

You can’t really think that it was Boris who ordered the wallpaper.

Johnson has wit and charm, so can float effortlessly through life. Starmer on the other hand, needs free clothes.

The man is vain, something that nobody could ever accuse of Boris Johnson.

Head to Asia and set up as an expert in whatever interests you and will also capture the backpacker zeitgeist.
