Recommendation noted. I’m using Aldi’s now, unsurprisingly it tastes like Marmite.

The immigration problem must be hard for even dyed in the wool liberals to continue to shout “racism” without seeing from other’s perspective. I live in a town where we live separate lives from our immigrants; I […]

Fair to say his defence is poor. Couldn’t he have said he was protesting for Just Stop Oil.

£1000 fine each. To read some of the comments you might suppose that vandalism is a new phenomenon.

I bought those first four albums. I think they’re all great – even the not so well liked Music for Pleasure. Sorry to hear of the death of a founding member, a sad reminder of how long ago it all was.

I wasn’t interested in reading at all, though I can remember one of Richard Scarry’s What do People do all Day books did ignite something. Education is wasted on the young -or formal education- it’s a time for […]

Great band, the best of the bunch for me. The best album though is Live Xcerts and the best song Nice ‘n’ Sleazy. The Raven- apart from the title track – I struggle to remember any of it, and agree with Mosley about Rattus.

Sometimes for me, that dud- track three side two- suddenly starts breathing and two years after it’s first hearing, long after the others have attained mundanity, I’m obsessed with it. I used to get annoyed […]

All Dire Straits albums have to have something dire on them. Speaking of which: where is the love for Simply Red?

I can remember buying a phone with internet access and pressing the icon only to find I had to type in a subject. Later discovering I needed to be connected to WiFi. It seems so long ago that the hope for the […]

Thanks, really I should buy it-in some format. My copy is on the b-side of a C90 tape. Even to listen to it I have to cycle through Morrissey’s Your Arsenal to get back to the start!

Agree. Those early records have Lynott’s best writing- though maybe they don’t have the same appeal for the later fans.

I’ve been listening to that 10,000 Maniacs album a lot this year. I have it on tape but haven’t had access to a player until recently. Once I’d played it, I returned to it again and again.

I grew up with Elvis, had no choice as my dad loved him. Back then everyone else’s dads loved him too; dressed and styled their hair in imitation of their hero; we knew all the records, the soundtrack to our […]
