My own pet peeve is when you are watching a play at the theatre, in which a well known star is appearing, and they receive a round of applause at their first entrance without even uttering a word.

I think the problem with the TV version, for many fans of the books, was that it was nothing like the books – particularly the portrayal of Banks himself. Peter Robinson himself was not a fan of the way they were adapted.
