That’s a blow. As much as I’m a Levon man, Robbie’s songs were pure class. And that time when he wiped out old racist Clapton? Magic.

No, After 35 years, I’m out. Far too much new stuff for my tastes. They closed the Club Tent. And introduced a VIP ticket. That was the final straw. I’m doing Cropredy this year. The heritage stuff is more my thing.

I’m just bored with the same chord changes and the same self-referential lyrics. Every single song, apart from Old.

Huey had been long gone to Gospel when I first got to NOLA. But I saw his two main singers, Bobby Marchan and Frankie Ford many times. Both were ultra camp showmen. Or often showgirl for Bobby.

It’s not a school of thought. It’s law. Anything issued up to the end of 1962 fell out of mechanical copyright in the UK in 2012. The 50 year rule. Proper Records made a huge thing out of following each year, as […]

I’m still doing my wee show but I don’t have anything like the reach that Travelling Folk has.
I love oor Colin’s work, here there and everywhere, but I know next to nothing about Bert. I get the influence […]

I have one track by Spud – Wind In The Willows/Bread and Fishes. From that same album I think. I can’t say I remember them at all. Was there a link with The Furey Brothers?

Oh could you really? How arrogant. How English.
We in Scotland could really use some sort of shift from England.
