Not a catchphrase but the (now) five year old had a soft toy a few years ago, a horse that had a rattle thingy on it. It went *everywhere* with him. I called it Shergar, and it stuck.

I don’t know enough about RT to nitpick at what ‘she’ has ‘written’ but having had a look at Amazon, it’s clear it’s some kind of AI generated crap is it? Certainly if the covers of her books are anything to go […]

I agree; the only real external guy is Nick Seymour and he’s not going to piss on his meal ticket. The samey vocals through the entire album are a big turnoff for me. Neil Finn has a fine, strong singing voice […]

Christ, the one with all the webchats didn’t work as an audiobook though, despite RG’s best efforts. I didn’t realise that until it was well over a year in my library and no returning to Audible at that point…

Horiwitz is great. I think i said this on one of his last reviews but he did two Sherlock Homes novels and *they* were great as well, and all the Hawthornes are great. The Atticus Pund ones are maybe a teeny tiny […]

I should have thought that ‘serious’ music fans would accept that tribute acts are often what keep the lights on, like Panto is to serious ‘theatre’.

YNGMYM is, for my money, the best value Beatles book there is. There is *literally* no filler in it. And as you read it, you find yourself muttering ‘wanker’ at every one of them. Even your favourite […]

Yes of course, and at the risk of a Python-esque ‘yeah, but APART from Some Girls…’ you’re right. Mind you, if you were to compare each setlist for Mick Taylor years v Ron Wood years, that’d tell quite the story.

In fairness, they ignore a lot of the Ronnie Wood era as well… i remember having a post gig pint after this show and working out very little from Woody’s era!

The Trouble With Harry…. Mrs Ivan bought me a Bosch book a few years ago. Really enjoyed it. It was the 10th or 11th in the series and so I went back to the start, and love them. They’re perfect audiobooks as […]

They were. I suppose in a way it was early Web 2.0 kind of stuff and the dynamics were unknown in advance. I remember people getting quite upset at down arrows because they were, as i recall, anonymous.

Same. He seems like a good sort, and I really wanted to like the first book. I’m no FR Leavis but I thought it was dreadful. One can’t help but feel (and this ties into the Millie Bobby Brown/Ghostwriting […]

I’ve just seen that I’ve read* The Outsider. That was good. (* listened to, actually. Which might be why I forgot Holly was in it. That was great. I mean, as per, rubbish ending but yeah, great fun)

I remember the Holly character in ‘Mercedes’ and was struck by King’s bravery in having somebody who might be a little ‘different’ well able to hold her own and be quite feisty in her own way. Putting her front […]

On the 1995 Stripped album, Jagger changes the lyrics of Spider and the Fly in *just* such a fashion. “She was shifty, nifty, she looked about fifty… “

Given the fact that there’s nothing new on Smash, I found myself wondering if Chris has impishly suggested Pointless as a title? I’ve pre ordered obvs.
