It’s a social media platform where people say things like Kier Starmer is a Tory.

My vote goes for the Quokka. When my son was learning his ABCs he went through a phase of making alphabets from his plastic toy animals (Alligator, bear, cat, you get the idea). This was fine until you get to Q. […]

An honest and engaging read Niall, and I can only echo what some of the people on this thread are saying about listening to your body. I think you’re making some interesting points about work and how […]

You just need the right branding. In the UK, Ovaltine and Horlicks have allowed themselves to become associated with being the sort of drinks your grandparents give you before you go to bed. Over here in SE Asia, […]

Just as a matter of interest Colin, when you read LOTR, do you do the whole thing in one or do you do a book at a time, reading something else in between? I’ve only read it once, about 20 years go (taking the […]

It doesn’t look that random or curated. The Sinead, R.E.M., GNR and Metallica songs are all from around the same time.

You can dance to lots of Sisters songs. Doktor Avalanche knows how to keep a groove going. The main idea behind This Corrosion is that it was “the soundtrack to a disco at the Borgias”. Fulfills that brief pretty well.

I think we should review David Attenborough like we do musicians: “the new series had its moments, but let’s be honest, there was nothing there nearly as good as the mountain gorillas”.

Great post Niall, and good to see you in a good place. The chase if getting some (deserved) love so let me just say that a good tomato bruschetta is difficult to beat. The antipasto of antipasti.

I agree, I’d like a book that covers the Black & Blue to Tattoo You period. Maybe start with the 1975 US tour and end with the 1982 European one. I think this period is underrated, the albums have a good vibe and […]

The rock star book I have enjoyed the most is Elton John’s Me, which covers all the decades, pretty equally all told. There’s always something going on. Does it matter that the 80s albums aren’t great when you […]

A Larkin poem I particularly like is Dockery and Son, where he is back at his old school and the Dean informs him that Dockery, who was junior to him when he was at school now has a son there. It then leads to a […]

And number one this day 45 years ago? It’s a great song, and I’m not giving any clues except to say that in 10 years time, the people who bought it probably will actually qualify for next year’s old age pension.
