as a fellow PE reader, it is incredibly frustrating that the vast majority of the stuff they reveal in EVERY FECKING EDITION rarely gets picked up by the “MSM”.

CW & Private Eye have been highlighting this clusterf*ck for over a decade now, so it’s gratifying to see the BBC, ITV et al finally catching up.

The Floyd may not have had anywhere near as many hit singles as those other bands, but if you’ve been responsible for 3 of the greatest selling albums of all time, then there’s a ready made audience for the music.

I got into an online ‘discussion’ a few years ago when a Pogues fan argued that Dirty Old Town was an Irish song. I have no doubt the BBC intern tasked with selecting which shots to use also didn’t know the song’s origins.

My usual answer to such questions is Prefab Sprout. I sincerely hope that Crimson/Red isn’t the last album, not that it’s bad, but that it showed Paddy hadn’t (hasn’t?) lost his songwriting gift.
