The one that springs to mind is William Shatner in Boston Legal. It’s a role you just can’t see anyone else pulling off and he is quite superb. James Spader must get a nod here too. A great double act.

We went to the show last October. Essential if you’re thinking of getting one so you can get a feel for what you want. Was invaluable for us. We ended up with a lovely 3yo Tessoro which we have taken on its m […]

Starmer has a very tricky path to navigate over the next 2 years. In addition to stabilising the economy he must steer the UK away from its excessive reliance on the U.S. This, of course, would have been somewhat […]

Hello is redeemed by the massive clay head in the video surely?

The first single I ever owned was something or other by Gary Glitter. There was a shop where we lived that sold odds and sods including singles. Happily the other record I remember getting there was Rock &Roll […]

Ian Dury Not long before he died he wrote these lyrics. The man was a genius and we possibly never saw the best of him. I shuffled through the modes of bad behaviour And hankered for the desolated dawn I […]

For us it was pull down your pants and suffocate the ants.

You could almost say Popular: 80s ZZ Top Connoisseur: 70s ZZ Top I’m ashamed to say I knew nothing of their 70s output until, ironically, I moved to Texas in 2008. Heard a lot of their early stuff on a […]

It’s been brilliant. I’ve been watching with the sound muted and played some records instead. It’s incredible how well Team Europe has done in that atmosphere. Justin Rose shoo-ing Bryson’s caddy off the gre […]

Just realized my previous submission isn’t really available on vinyl unless you want to shell out abut 700 quid. So, how about The Liberty Of Norton Folgate

Wide Angle by Hybrid

Haven’t watched FT in ages but watched them a lot back in the 80s (my mum had them on video). I think, for me, it’s just edged out by Porridge which I can watch whenever it’s on.

1. First Concert – Bruce Foxton & The Rhythm Sisters at college in Devon. Had a pint with him at the bar afterwards 2. Last Concert – Kaiser Chiefs in Dublin 3. Worst Concert – I may have a ‘least favourite’ but […]

I have Anthology 2 when it was released, bought on a whim while picking up a couple of other things. It’s terrific but Take 1 of ‘Yesterday’ is a real goosebumps/teary eyed moment. Paul obviously having just […]

Teachers asks the class to draw a picture and then talk about what they’ve drawn. Johnny hands his to her and she notices it’s a blank piece of paper. Teacher: What is it? Johnny: It’s a cow eating grass […]

OK, not a video but this interview that Danny Baker did on the set of Tiswas is rather good. A brilliantly written piece and a band only 2 years into their career and the cracks are already appearing. It’s […]

You could try Tahiti 80. French pop outfit. Start with ‘Wallpaper For The Soul’, their best album IMO
