BryanD commented on the post, David Bowie 'Tonight' (1984). Turkey or Tremendous? 1 week, 4 days ago
It’s neither a turkey nor tremendous , it’s alright but am I the only person on this thread who hasn’t the faintest idea who Nicholas Pegg is.

BryanD commented on the post, Is the playlist replacing the album? 2 weeks ago
I do both but probably still more CD / LP listening. I do find playlists good for creating my own ‘best of’ and I have a couple of large playlists full of songs by artists where I only like one song of theirs, tha […]

Lovely review Niall, we couldn’t make it so great to read your review. We’ve been huge fans since we heard Nashville. Like you every time he puts something on Bandcamp or has a cd release we buy it. I’m missi […]

Things I Miss The Most is indeed excellent. Everything Must Go is by far the best of the latter phase for me, I must dig it out for another listen for the first time in a long time. You probably won’t agree but I […]

If we are talking about the initial run up to and including Gaucho then I would probably agree with you but with Twang’s caveat about degrees. If we include the ones after they reformed then it could be any o […]

Nice write up. It’s probably my favourite SD album, although that tends to change. I’ve got the original vinyl, the box set and the 99 cd remaster so I will give this release a miss.

Never heard of Linoleum (the band) before but i am now imagining them on a package tour with Kitchens of Distinction and Furniture.

BryanD commented on the post, What was the last 7" vinyl single you bought? 3 weeks, 1 day ago
It was either Gretchen Peters The Last Day of the Year, which was a limited run of 500 on white vinyl or Green Gartside Tangled Man / Wishing Well (Songs of Anne Briggs), sometime in 2019.

Festivals don’t appeal to me so I’ve been interested in going to any of them, so I might well be wrong but it does seem like there been a huge increase in the number of them over the last ten years or so.

Presumably if Leo Sayer is playing then the show must go on. Just don’t say it’s over or ask why is everybody going home.

I haven’t played them in decades but from memory his self titled debut was really good. I will dig them out in the next few days (we have visitors this weekend who probably wouldn’t appreciate it) and let you know.

Back in the 80s woolworths in Chester used to have some odd choices of LP that would end up in the sale bin, going from £4.99 – 2.49 – 1.24 – 0.62 if no-one bought them and then disappear. Over a few years I […]

I’ve mentioned this before but the Word covermount CDs were by far the worst for this.

Time flies like the wind, fruit flies like bananas. Perhaps we need a very old joke thread.

And it was recorded in four days if I remember correctly. The slide on Lipstick Sunset is excellent.

I feel vindicated! Bring The Family, the John Hiatt record he was on is excellent, I will have to dig it out for a listen. Thanks for reminding me. The Little Village one, on the other hand, was very poor.

It’s probably the same thing but my contribution is more pretended/ tried to like, and it’s Ry Cooder. I bought four or five LPS of his before giving up. I think it’s just all too clinical. I’ve thought of anot […]

I’ve just checked and you’re right. I suppose I will have to play it now and get slightly irritated, either that or play it out of order which would be wrong.
