I was going through my relatively brief smoking phase then and 20 Regal also cost 20 pence. Four pints of McEwan’s Scotch and a packet of tabs for a quid !

Excellent interview, thanks for sharing. I suspect he also misremembers the price of a pint, even at London prices, if he thinks ten bob only got you two pints back before the Stones even formed. When I started […]

Being facetious, I have to say that 10% of the market by 20230 isn’t that impressive! I used to go to county cricket games on and off in the 80s and 90s and it was definitely an excuse for an all day piss up. D […]

This may not be helpful but I have found over the last fifty odd years that only buying new LPs and looking after them circumnavigates this problem.

I forgot about Now That’s What I Call 70s Soul. There’s nothing unpredictable about it but 4 CDs, 88 tracks, of top notch songs with no clunkers apart from Three Times A Lady and only £12.99. I’ve probably got mo […]

I discovered the other week that James Maddock had a new record out. Another one who isn’t breaking new ground but I am really enjoying it, if you like him then I’m sure you’ll like this. I’m hopeless at describ […]

I’m another one with the original vinyl of ‘Gardens’ who had no idea she was still releasing music. I must check it out. Thanks for the heads up.

It doesn’t seem the same as when you had to buy it from the chemist and the bottle was wrapped in orange cellophane.

Like a cigarillo? I did notice on the same site that you can get these things, probably the worst looking sweet I have ever seen:

Surprisingly enough you can still get Spanish Gold sweet tobacco but sweet cigarettes appear to have gone the journey, unsurprisingly enough.

They do a specific games subscription for £25 a year which is what I have. You do get a lot of irritating pop ups trying to get you to upgrade your subscription to the whole thing or upgrade games to cover the whole family.

Plastic milk bottles with tops that have really sharp edges all the way round and are on far too tight so you virtually shred your fingers when you first open them. I wouldn’t mind but they usually have a foil seal as well.
