Ainsley commented on the post, How many albums do you need? 2 months, 4 weeks ago
I took the plunge a few years ago and digitised my entire physical collection, which, despite being a bit smaller than many here (around 400 LPs and 1000 CDs) took an effin’ age. Space WAS becoming a bit of an […]

I have a air of Sony XM6 over ear phones for indoor use and a cheaper pair of Sony c710 buds for anything else. I tried the expensive Sony earbuds and the Air pods Pro 2s before going back to over ears as I […]

I’ve come to it too late to justify adding it to my list but goodness the CMAT album is really good.

Ainsley commented on the post, So how has 2025 been for you? 3 months, 2 weeks ago
Annual Flu Jab and 6 monthly Covid jabs for me and nothing more than a slightly sore arm afterwards. I had the first of the two Shingles jabs recently, however and it knocked me for six for two or three days.

That Ghost Train piece is stunning – completely hypnotic

Sad news. New Light Through Through Old Windows is perhaps all you need (a best of but largely re-recordings of lots of his best work before that sort of thing was fashionable) but it shows him off to be a […]

Ainsley commented on the post, Stackwaddy’s and any other AW friendly quiz questions 3 months, 3 weeks ago
I’ve got a couple of home made sound quizzes if you want them – Intros and a “Songs with numbers” round if you’re interested. DM me and I’m happy to send. A good balance I think for anoraks and non-anoraks.

Remote is probably peak H&C but the studio follow up, Stars Crash Down, deserves hearing. After that they venture more into jazz tinged stuff for a couple of albums but the melodies remain strong. In between […]

Liverpool Empire last night. Guest was Claire Sweeny who was very funny. She appeared to know absolutely nothing about what was going on – is that real or just good writing? Highly recommended show. I’ve seen […]

Loved the Au Pairs and saw them several times around 1980/81ish. They’re playing Liverpool with the Skids next year but I wouldn’t go now after reading all of this, which I probably would have done if it had been […]
