I don’t make lists. I find it too difficult. But I’m glad that you all do. Some great stuff to catch up with. And @locust keep the Swedish recommendations coming, as Lloyd Cole said, I love a bit of “Music in a […]

I loved all of the Faith record, but I hid it at the back of my collection for very many years. My bad.

Very sad news. I loved George, and he cast a long shadow over my teenage years.

Hello all,
Made a decision to stay off social media about 12 months ago. Finally weakened in the summer, and have been FBing and Twittering a bit. However, it did buy me a bit more time for reading and […]

Not a big fan of musicals, but I’ve seen:
Les Mis, Rocky Horror, The Producers and Matilda. Thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Quite fancy seeing Groundhog Day too. Oh, and I saw Cats years ago & thought it was […] -

So to Nancy Kerr and James Fagan…
I’d heard Nancy both live and recorded on the radio, but had never seen her on stage before, and what a treat it was. She is a sublime fiddler and singer, who broke through in […]

First on the gig list was BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award Winner Brighde Chaimbeul. Brighde is a piper from the Isle of Skye, who plays both bellows-blown smallpipes and (as a finale) the highland bagpipes. She was […]
