Yes will be watching soon,I can recommend Mossad 101 if you don’t mind the sub titles….great production values and lots of twists and turns…!So much more to watch if you are able to cope with sub titles…
Good call!
Also 3 episodes in & really enjoying it. Like all good quality yarns, you are aware that the stakes are very high – makes it super gripping!
Series 3 of Rick & Morty comes straight to Netflix as of today (so no need to do something naughty or watch a channel called “Fox” in order to see it). Dropping one episode per week – isn’t it funny that a service (as indeed with Amazon) that was supposed to spell the death of “appointment tv” has so many shows where you’re just waiting for the “new episode added” message? (That one week when there was no new episode of Better Call Saul I thought I might do something extreme…)
watched first episode of this last night and I was a tad disappointed. I think that Jason Bateman lacks the acting chops to play this role with conviction. Also of the view that the directing was a bit haphazard, then found out the director was also Bateman!
I’ve just binge-watched the first series and really enjoyed it. I strongly disagree with Dai’s view. Bateman conveys Marty’s character with depth and conviction. The show has the same dramatic pacing as Breaking Bad and that redneck atmosphere seen in shows like True Blood and the first series of True Detective. Looking forward to series 2.
Thinking of checking out Narcos. Is it any good?
Edit: just seen HP’s positive review, so going to jump in
Mindhunter on Netflix just now is really good – creepy and thought-provoking. But I refuse to write an actual review of it because season 1 is so obviously just part of a story, a cliffhanger for future seasons. Really annoys me, that.
Enjoyed Ozark a lot, accepting it’s big nod to Breaking Bad (ordinary guy stumbles into the wrong side of The Law then digs himself even deeper into his self-made hole) especially a gigantic lake thingie in the US I never even knew existed
He’s not exactly an ordinary guy, though, is he? And it looks as though he knew exactly what he was doing when he went into business with the bad guys, years before the story starts. Bateman’s portrayal is exactly right – he’s not panicking, he’s not yelling, he’s totally under control (for the moment), and he’s far from the quiet, rather ineffectual office worker we thought he was at first.

So true – the GLW won’t tolerate subs, but I’ll add it to the watch alone list

Looks pretty good. As soon as i finish off series 2 of Sense 8 i may have a dabble.
Will try this. Just finished series 1 of Preacher on Prime. Now that’s a real AW friendly watch – v recommended!
I’ll have a look. Just finished “Narcos” so I’m in the market.

I loved the first two series, and bailed on the third.

Thanks for the heads-up on Ozark. First episode was note-perfect.

True. He’s more of an ordinary bad guy forced to be even badder…
