The TV was pretty rubbish but there were quite a few shows featuring live bands. Sounds would often get international acts coming in. Being a morning show they not infrequently just continued on to the TV studio from the night before sometimes with interesting results.
I remember in 1978 when Thin Lizzy played on the steps of the Sydney Opera House and the NME sent a scribe to cover it – the first thing he reported was gobsmackedness at the amount of TV music shows; at that time you could pretty much watch it all day on a Saturday.

That was actually a Saturday morning show that ran from about 9 O’clock to 11 or maybe 12.
For the record Australian TV has never been any good and anyone who says different is a filthy liar.
