The same trepidation that I felt when hearing that they were publishing Go Set A Watchman – will it taint the perfection of the original? (I haven’t plucked up the courage to read the follow-up to To Kill A Mocking Bird but don’t have quite the emotional investment in TLOL that I did in that novel. I’ll probably be downloading it on the day of release and hoping against hope that it measures up but can’t believe it can match the best/most romantic album of the eighties (bar, maybe, The Blue Nile’s “Hats”).
Coming next..
The Golden Age Of DAB
Three Ry Aye
Tin Drum Machine
PTSD Rock
New Gold Snooze Button
A Broken Zimmer Frame
Eric’s Stairlift
Regifted
Imperial Bathroom
Another Sulk
Avaloff
I Give Up, I Can’t Find Your Love
(*addresses camera 2*) .. You get the idea with that…
I don’t think this is a good idea. I think Alphabet City was LoL2, really.
But what if the tracks are all sequels – now there’s an idea…
Show me one more time
She shot that Poison Arrow (to my heart)
Many Happy Returns Again
Tears are Still not enough
February 15th
The Smell of Love
Best Before
I’m Over it
4 ever 2 Gether Again!
The Smell of Love
Paul Hardcastle will soon be releasing 20, and in a few years time we can expect to 14 from Blur.
Carter USM are apparently starting work on 50 Something – a collection of songs about kids leaving home, waiting around for retirement and regularly visiting the Daily Mail website Comments section.
Paul Weller has been asleep again, and will be releasing 23 Dreams
Oh dear. Advance orders put on hold one suspects. But will they put on Spotify ? To be honest, if it were my album, then in the circumstances I might not, or at least not for a few months.
Ooh that is very promising. And there we were making gags about other ’82 albums or a track list of sequels, but punmeister Fry has loftier ideas: tunes whose titles are Moz album titles in reverse. Can’t wait to hear Conceive Nephew and My Spurs..

It’s not a follow up to To Kill A Mockingbird.
In a very real sense, everything is.
(I may well be wearing a polo-neck jumper)
It could be like The Godfather Pt 2 – better than the original.
It could be like The Godfather Pt 3 – worse than the worst thing that has ever existed.
I’ll go for it, whatever.
Beg to differ MtM, I honestly believe that the first Godfather film is the best by a considerable distance.
And, FWIIW, I don’t think part 3 is as bad as you say. It is not a patch on the first 2, but I think it is Ok – just.
Or Bat Out of Hell 3 or or or…..Labour of Love 27
Shudder
Will we now get Welcome to the Pleasuredome 2?
One to check on Spotify first. I sense crushing disappointment but enough time has lapsed not to taint the original.
Definitely one for Spotifying. If it turns out to be amazeballs, a vinyl purchase may be in order.
Totes amazeballs for me. Amazeballs is not enough.

I would definitely buy Eric’s Stairlift.
Even if he still needed it?!
*thwack*
I think Dexys new one is Three Rye Ay…………………
If we’re talking 80s sequels I also want to hear….
Four Feet High and Rising
26 O’Clock
The Queen Is Zombie
Drone to Bolivia
London 0 Hull 5 (the Housies go for a 2-drummer attack a la Adam & The Ants)
You fogot Haircut 100’s ‘Favourite Sock’
Curse! It was down the back of the sofa.
Party Party 3.
2.4 Hour Party People, Plastic Hips, Carnt Hear, Turn The Lights Out
Welcome To The O2 Pleasuredome

I think Alphabet city is a fine album & I am really looking forward to LoL2.
Songs co-written with Marcus Vere, from out of Living In a Box Living In A Cardboard Box, apparently.

Apropos the original post, they played 2 or 3 new songs on last years tour of LoL.
Shite.
