Judging that other thread, we are all sick or going to bed early. I have a steenking cold, too.
That shouldn’t stop us. Let’s put together the best bangin’ playlist so we can through shapes in the kitchen waiting for the kettle to boil when we make our honey and lemon.
Each track has got to be the best. The best of 2019 or the best of the decade. The best for getting the floor moving.
I’ll start with Lizzo’s Juice.
31/12/2019 at 17:01
Easy peasy ! Put our cd swaps on rotate!! Here’s one from mine that’s going down well. (Look away, my group….)
31/12/2019 at 17:13
Released in 2012, so you consider it a banger of the decade.

Have this banger from The Darkness as they have made my December crazily happy. .. From album of the year “Easter Is Cancelled” “Rock n Roll Deserves To Die”
31/12/2019 at 17:08
While I’m at it you can have “Heart Explodes” too….
31/12/2019 at 17:17
Hello Dave. Happy New Year. But seriously. Can you dance to these two tracks? I’ve listened to both and they aren’t making me yell CHOON!!
31/12/2019 at 18:40
You dance if you want I’m bangin’ me ‘ed in the corner necking snakebite…..
31/12/2019 at 17:26
Have this one while I think about what else to play.
31/12/2019 at 17:32
That’s acceptable as a warm up. We need something to get the feet moving. Something like this:
Chaka Kahn – Like Sugar
31/12/2019 at 17:51
31/12/2019 at 18:15
That’s more like it! I like the moves helpfully demonstrated in the video, especially the elaborate shoulder shrug. I can manage that one.
31/12/2019 at 17:55
One for all those with the sniffles

From two of the best albums of the decade. This:
PS. I don’t have a cold. I’ll just be having a few bevvies with me old dad. Suits me.
31/12/2019 at 18:22
Giovanca is nice and club ready but She makes wonder when you were last in one, Moose.
Best wishes to your dad!
31/12/2019 at 18:57
2003. I was 29 and immediately felt about 229.

I hate nightclubs. Always did.

KFD, do you follow @dusttodigital on Twitter? It is an account made for you,!, and where I discovered this banger from Vietnam.
31/12/2019 at 18:08
There in a ros Now! Brass is instant party for me!
31/12/2019 at 18:18
I think the eggnog has given you the hiccups, KFD.
31/12/2019 at 18:13
There’s a copper at the door asking us to turn down the trombones.
Sorry chaps… it’s the turkey stew taking effect.
Sadly a reminder of one of the great ones we lost this decade… but this was a worthy send-off.
Whaddaya mean no dancing on the coffee table? Why then have you put it in the middle of the room?
31/12/2019 at 18:20
I love that too, Moosey. Great album.
31/12/2019 at 18:26
31/12/2019 at 20:40

If the ailing Afterword can’t come to the mountain, then we must bring the mountain to the Afterword:
(Spoek Mathambo – The Mountain)
31/12/2019 at 18:31
That could work. Let’s see if it fills the floor.
Debut single from my fave new band of the last few years, and my fave album of last year, my showbiz chums Gemma (her BF is a fellow ACR nut) and Maria aka
Sink Ya Teeth – If You See Me
31/12/2019 at 18:30
Very cool indeed.
31/12/2019 at 22:03
The whole album’s really, really, great. New one out next month.
31/12/2019 at 22:22
Bit unimaginative in the album title department, I see.
01/01/2020 at 07:45
Does what it says on the tin.
31/12/2019 at 18:27
I could post 10 tracks, or just one 🤔
31/12/2019 at 18:34
Having listened to that track, I’m saying “Be my guest!”
Vulpes Vulpes says
Happy New Year to all at the good ship Afterword.
Here’s one of my favourite 12 inchers ever (fnarr):
31/12/2019 at 21:03
Very nice. But not this decade!
I’ll hit the flow when the DJ plays this, then retire spluttering into a hankie within the minute. At least I showed willing.
31/12/2019 at 21:06
Very jolly. And, somewhat surprisingly, bang up-to-date.
31/12/2019 at 21:09
That can’t be true. I know both of these artistes.
31/12/2019 at 21:19
I confess I wouldn’t have heard it if it wasn’t for the Bigmouth podcast.
31/12/2019 at 18:44
You can’t stop it
31/12/2019 at 18:49
The best song The Stones never wrote (?)
31/12/2019 at 21:08
Both contributions a bit ‘old’, grandpa, but very danceable.
31/12/2019 at 19:08
Can’t leave out the single of the year:
(CHAI – Choose Go!)
31/12/2019 at 21:12
31/12/2019 at 19:18
From an album I listened to a lot this year:
31/12/2019 at 19:27
And here’s Daniel Norgren in a rare party mood:
31/12/2019 at 21:14
Thanks, Locust. Both sound Old Skool but they certainly got my feet moving.
31/12/2019 at 20:08
Three hours to midnight and this is shaping up a treat…
31/12/2019 at 21:16
Please do me a favour, KFD, and remove the Darkness tracks when Dave isn’t looking.
31/12/2019 at 21:49
Ha ha. Please do. Not for the first time I brought the wrong music to the party….
31/12/2019 at 20:19

31/12/2019 at 21:17
Perfect for a bit of hip action.
31/12/2019 at 20:42
Happy new year all you space cadets……
31/12/2019 at 21:39
Are you sure this is of this century? Mind you, Reggae Chic is inspirational.
31/12/2019 at 20:52
And a banger “in foreign”.
31/12/2019 at 21:11
These ones too.
31/12/2019 at 21:45
I bet your parties are like in the sixties with mini skirts and fruggin’.
31/12/2019 at 22:33
You have got a pretty groovy party going on here too,Tigger.
But i will neither frug nor wear a mini skirt!!
Oh dear! Things are geting out of hand Now…
31/12/2019 at 22:34

Some Nordic gems..
31/12/2019 at 21:52
At first, I wondered how you got inside the mind of a thirteen year old girl. Then, I heard the lyric to the last one.
31/12/2019 at 22:00
A pop-loving 13 year old girl, I hasten to add.
31/12/2019 at 21:33
Haitian Henri-Pierre Noel appeared fro nowhere a few years ago and then disappeared. Here is a fine example of his “disco jazz”.
31/12/2019 at 21:54
Yes. Fine indeed.
31/12/2019 at 21:59
One from a simply wonderful live band..
31/12/2019 at 22:18
I think we all need a bit of LCD.
I need to fish out their last two albums. I kind of dismissed them as they weren’t as immediately captivating as their first two.
31/12/2019 at 22:52
Is it too early for a bit of Northern Soul?
31/12/2019 at 23:16
Northern Soul is sixties music that peaked in the seventies.
Try Sault – Up All Night for something more this century:

Can’t believe we have got this far without Vanessa’s Upside Down from 1982. You’ll find me over there – on the dance floor!
01/01/2020 at 00:31
I’ve developed a considerable fondness for Australia’s Hilltop Hoods. A definite floorfiller!
Poppa! Hiccups agan!
To my surprise, I’ve developed a considerable fondness for Australia’s Hilltop Hoods. A definite floorfiller!

One of my favorite tracks from one of my favorite albums. I want to be as happy at work as this guy:
01/01/2020 at 08:31
Joyful! I always associated Afghan Wigs with introspective, chin-stroking. I’ll have to reset my dial.
01/01/2020 at 11:20
Perhaps my favourite banger from this year:
01/01/2020 at 11:39
Didn’t quite make my top twenty of the year but endearingly raucous.
01/01/2020 at 11:23
If this one don’t get you moving you will need to check your pulse:
01/01/2020 at 11:40
I’m out of breath trying to keep up!
01/01/2020 at 13:46
Driving home from the New Year’s Party this lunchtime, my son played this Jamaican guy. I suspect his songs would sound great at a bop.
01/01/2020 at 14:28
Keep going KFD!
This thread has a chance of a record. The fewest views for a hamper worth of comments (mostly by the OP!).
01/01/2020 at 14:40
You have had fun. Those of us who posted have had a blast.
Another fine song for you!
