Gave today’s Daylight Music event a miss and, unusually for me, did some work instead.
After getting home I played around for the first time with my newly-purchased Yamaha keyboard and enjoyed faffing about with the various voices. My keyboard skills are slightly below rudimentary, currently, but I shall strive to improve them. The Organ and Strings voices were rather pleasant, especially in the lower registers.
After a Chicken Biryani dinner, a modicum of drink has been taken and my 3 swag CDs from Friday night’s excellent mingle have now been digitized (lossless) to my big fat hard drive and filed alphabetically in their physical form.
Sounds like a fine evening…..nothing like a new shiny instrument to make the evening swing….which model? What does it do?

I’ve been mixing the new Twang album (patience, patience everyone) plus wrestling with iMovie (could it BE less intuitive?) editing the video of last week’s Oldskool gig. Fun fun fun.

Well in theory it ought to be about a month if I get the fick on with it, but that’s been the case for about a year. I keep getting distracted by other projects. I think as at this minute I am setting end April as the drop dead point. I did a bit tonight actually, some harmonies.
Tried (and failed) to do some work last night so I’m up early today finishing it. Distracted by my son refusing to sleep so in the end he got in bed with me; I was trying to listen to a (very sweary) podcast whilst having a grunty and farty 6 year old fidgeting next to me. Resorted to headphones because of the swears (and farts).
Anyway, Jack White is on now, all good.
Currently listening to Jack’s Blunderbuss album, as part of my ongoing 1001 Albums project.
A good variety of musical styles. Not entirely convinced I like his voice yet.
Never been a fan. I’m always suspicious when there’s a big emphasis on the pose/image, but that’s me.
