Family are all out on one thing or another and after the dog and me got bored with Tropic Thunder I found The Rolling Stones – Ladies and Gentlemen on the TiVo, which stopped me watching Oil City Confidential again.
There’s been some discussion here recently about their merits, but bloody hell they were good in the early 70s.
With Bobby Keys and Mick Taylor in tow, and Keith arthritis free, they were just a fantastic rock n roll band.
I’ve got some very hot wings marinating in the fridge which I really should put in the oven soon before I have to share with the returning stragglers.
What you doing tonight?

I’m on my own as my partner is working in the Netherlands looking after the Fleet Choral Society. Sat on me bum watching the Women’s World Cup, getting over the last of my man flu, sorting and uploading photos to Flickr from my recent trips.
I should be in Wales checking out an upcoming trip but – man flu.
I’ve just finished a huge curry, delivered from a local restaurant as I couldn’t be arsed with cooking.
I’m feeling very content.
I have just watched the Manics live from Cardiff Castle on the iPlayer and then retrieved my 10th Anniversary copy of the Holy Bible from the loft and watched the DVD it came with.
A top band, an average album, and great interviews.
After seeing a Terminator genisys (or whatever it is) trailer, have been itching to watch the whole series in order. The Terminator currently playing – it’s great, but the low budget really shows, and the bloody background music is infuriating! Sorry, gotta go, he’s back!
After a day at the South of England Show in Sussex today, we had a Chinese takeaway and are watching some dreadful rubbish about the 90s narrated by someone who sounds like Cathy Burke. I can feel an early night coming on as i’ve some kit to get ready tomorrow plus some paperwork. Client changed all goalposts on Friday at 4.30pm and having dumped the problem, left me to pick up the pieces.
Clique alert- met a lovely Word Bird for a coffee, which was much fun.
Now…struggling with getting my son to bed; he’s now lying beside me, whilst I ruminate on ‘Carrie and Lowell’ by Sufjan Stevens. Much the same as every night, really. 🙂
Watching 4HD The 90s:Ten Years that changed the world
I still don’t understand why people put up with Cock is Jarver, he’s the worst front man ever – can’t sing for toffee, looks like a nerd and the lyrics are shite!
500 miles from home, just taking a few moments in my hotel room before going out to pretend to be sociable again. Slightly pissed and slightly pissed off. Missing my family. Won’t get home till late tomorrow, then Monday morning it start again. Five more years and I’m done. Eyes on the prize.
Just on me way up the wooden hill. Dear friends over for dinner, stopping over with us. Lovely.
Plus, though I do say so myself, that was a cracking meal I just spent about 9 sweaty sweary hours pretending to have worked up effortlessly.
Went to see Brazil v Spain in the World Cup! Never thought I would do that. Ok was the women and we rattled around a bit in the huge Olympic Stadium in Montreal, but was still an enjoyable day. Was hoping to get my 8 yr old “soccer” mad, but after about 20 mins she asked it would be over soon….
