Number one son has just returned from a holiday with his pals in Granada.
Me – So how was the holiday?
Son – Amazing.
Me – What did you think of the Alhambra?
Son – The what? I had some beer called Alhambra is that what you mean?
To be fair this post could also be titled Dads eh?

My daughter got back from Hungary last night. While she was there I messaged her to ask what she was doing. Here is her response in full: “Beach, Skull, pets, cave and family”.
We invited our son (aged 33) for dinner tonight
“What would you like to eat?”
“Something I can have a second helping of”
It’s not until you look at phrases that you commonly use that you realise they’re actually a big weird. Second helping is a big weird.
A big weird?
Bit 😂
I’ve been to Granada a few times and if your son really did visit the city without knowing what the Alhambra was, it’s actually genuinely impressive.
Not a kid – but a young person who told me that she really enjoyed going to Glastonbury some years earlier. Especially seeing “Mick Jagger and his band”.
