Obituary
Siouxsie and the Banshees were revolutionary 1977-1979 and The Scream is a gauntlet thrown down to challenge the concept of Punk. His dramatic, powerful drumming blended with John McKay’s experimental guitar playing, creating a disturbing, thrilling sound without parallel. The Scream remains an extraordinary album today and Morris’s playing is at the core of it.
Play it again today in tribute.

Jigsaw Feeling on the Old Grey Whistle Test
I think that was the best Banshees line up. They were a superb live band, I saw them 11 times between about 79 and 81/82. I don’t think I had heard drumming like his before.
I have no idea what he did after walking out on them.
The Scream remains an astonishing album – I revisit it every now and then. RIP.
Loved his drumming style. Huge influence on me when I first started drumming. Great hair too. I believe he’d written a book in recent times, but don’t think it’s been published… must check.
RIP, I still remember the massive shock in the music papers when they left the band. And then ultimately more commercial success followed.
