Despite running to more episodes/ seasons, the Reeves and Mortimer reboot was dreadful
Useless piece of trivia: KC’s oppo, Mike Pratt, co-wrote Tommy Steele’ Little Whie Bull with Lionel Bart

Another piece of trivia is that KC’s oppo, Mike Pratt was the father of bass player, Guy Pratt.
I used to like the Sunny Jim character in Coronation Street.

Just a word to defend the Reeves and Mortimer reboot. Could be wrong but it might be the only time R & M have been seen on antipodean TV, otherwise they’re completely unknown here to the general public.
The show was barely screened (two episodes mid-afternoon on one of the free-to-airs), had fantastic titles (both design and music) and scripts to satisfy my inner nerd (surely I wasn’t the only one who recognised that the characters in one episode had the same surnames as actors who’d played Number Two in “The Prisoner”).
All this and Tom Baker as a regular cast member – and Emilia Fox certainly had a way with leather coats.

That Was The Week That Was too.
Married to the same person since the early 60s and, rather pleasingly, my favourite Randall & Hopkirk episode (the one where a guy pretends to be Marty coming back from the dead to befriend Jean, well who wouldn’t pretend to be dead to befriend Annette Andre?) features Ray Brooks, who has been married to his wife since 1963.
I find that a far more impressive achievement than the ‘trading your partner in for a younger model’ cliche, and makes me like them both more.

Not sure you’ve quite got the title of R & H there, @jaygee! 😉
Black Type says
Also, I’ve just seen ITV refer to him as ‘Coronation Street star…’ – the equivalent of the trope for many of our greatest late thespians being tagged as ‘Harry Potter star’.

Stole the joke from the title Benny Hill used for his parody version
There seems to be three stages of TV fame…
Much-loved TV funny man*
Troubled TV funny man
Tragic TV funny man
* or Corrie icon

Was in a couple of Carry Ons too … Matron dressed as a nurse trying to nick pills, At Your Conven8ence as the bolshy shop steward finding any excuse to go on strike

He was great in Carry On At Your Convenience. Possibly my favourite of the series.
The scene where he loses his trousers on the motorbike was filmed outside the Odeon in Uxbridge.

Do try to keep up, @Dai
It was a joke – as explained in my reply of 1628 yesterday to Black Type

I do wonder if it was the same white suit as worn by Alec Guinness.
