But only in this LSD trip of a video where Sir Rog of Moore, George Costanza, Rednex, The Incredible Hulk and that kid from ‘The Champ’ mime to the ‘Ferry Aid’ charity single for the Zeebrugge ferry disaster in 1987 o plug some show with 3 crusty types so stoned they need their names on their shirts to remember who is which.
I probably saw this at the time but age does not wither its batshit nuttiness
And Bergerac! And Dee Snider looking like Tyres from ‘Spaced’. I can only assume Paul McKenna is there cos he hypnotised them all to take part.
Time for a Bergerac appreciation thread maybe?. Though it all went a bit downhill after series 1.
As discussed at the recent impromptu NW Mingle
Every week – “Hello Jim, meet my business associate, Abdul” says Charlie Hungerford. Every fucking week. The police’s life would be so much easier if the just locked up Charlie. That and instead of having car chases, stay where they are and wait for the bad guys to come round again, it’s fucking tiny that place.
I would work this up in to a 5 minute open mic spot routine if it was still the 1990s
Mo Foster’s bass line on the original theme tune was great, though.
Jason Alexander giving it the full showbiz is the most embarrassing thing I have seen in years.
Oh, and the video features one of Milli Vanilli is lip-syncing. Who’d have thought?
If only Milli Vanilli had appeared on the original song the irony meter would have crashed with a joyous sigh
I’m confused. The 1987 Let it Be Ferry Aid single is here :
The version in the OP was clearly done not so long ago, given the ages of George out of Seinfeld and Norm out Cheers. There was no Seinfeld in 1987 neither (or Boyzone for that matter).
My guess is that it’s a Swedish fundraiser for something else.
EDIT – I need to read things properly. I know now that this was a thing put together by a Norwegian TV show as a birrova fun in 2010. It’s odd that they chose to mime over a charity single.
