I know there are fair few fans of Kathleen around here.
The good news is that seven years after the release of Voyageur and going on to take an indefinite break from music after touring in support of the album, she has gone back in the studio.
She is posting on Instagram (her account name is kittythefool) pictures from a studio in Kingston, Ontario where she is recording with band regulars Jim Bryson and Gord Tuff.
No expected release date has been mentioned nor any information about a tour in support of whatever results from the sessions.
But it’s good to know she’s put serving coffee at her Quitters shop at least on temporary hold.

Had a number of coffees at Quitters (about 10 mins from where I live). It’s very good (they serve beer too).
Does Kathleen spend much time working there?
I was hoping to pay a visit there when in Canada and passing not too far from Stittsville, but we were on a deadline for return of the hire car, so couldn’t make it.
I haven’t seen her there, but a friend of mine who lives about 5 min walk away says he has done. Most of my visits have been on weekends so she is less likely to be around I suppose.
Carl – thanks for the news. Hopefully it results in a new album
Good news. Love her first two albums.
Great news @carl. Not many people have written a better song than For the record off the Voyageur album.
Kathleen and her band played a fine gig at Söder Theatre when she was touring her first album. Very unexpectedly, my pals and I ended up drinking with her and the band, and what a charming bunch they were too.
A very talented artist and very good company. Fingers crossed it all happens for her this time round.
Not surprisingly, his song went down very well with the Swedish audience.
