I like to try words that come in a flash of inspiration, sometimes I canβt be arsed. Each method seems equally successful.
I’d argue, without a trace of jealousy or bitterness (hah), that “safe” starter words will, over 18 holes, win out over random ones.
If you stick to the same starter word, other players work out what it is and then they get a huge advantage. It’s almost as if they don’t WANT to win Spoonie.
Knowing that safe words are used among those who play Wordle gives a whole new impression of you lot. π€
Iβm alternating between βsafeβ and randomβ¦seems to make no difference. Half the time safe is anything but.

I’d shout an obscenity but, waste of time, you can’t hear me….
I’ll bet you didn’t know (I didn’t myself until recently) that complete and total deafness is very rare. The vast majority of deaf people can hear to some degree. I’m officially 100% deaf but I can still hear dogs barking, planes flying overhead, Wordlers whinging etc.

Statto here. Iβll post the halfway scores in a few days of course, but in the meantime Iβve been struck by the impressive consistency weβve been displaying. The wordle and spelling bee gods look very differently upon things
I think the problem with Wordle is there’s no explanation of the dictionary definition of the answer unlike say connections which does say why the groupings are chosen.
I did know the word having read lots of American comics in my youth, and I’d eliminated enough useful letters before getting the answer.
I have a much bigger problem with the Spelling Bee god myself – every day I have perfectly good words rejected, some of which are even in the US dictionary.
