My plan tomorrow is to follow Leedsboy’s “strategy is force” or whatever it is called theory. I’m pretty sure that involves using a safe starter, an even safer seconder and then applying my considerable powers of reasoning and logical deduction. I’m confidently expecting a birdie or who knows even an eagle leaving me well away from the Battle of Spoonie. Victory, well second bottom place, will be mine!
I’m pretty sure that as well as having the same first word as Leedsboy I have the same approach to the second word if the first one doesn’t produce much. And yet Leedsboy is currently second in the table while I am second bottom alongside you. The 9 shot difference between our scores can only be down to his excellent choices of letters after the routine decisions have been made. Good luck tomorrow. May the better (or less useless) of us take the glory of third bottom place (unless Diff continues his late surge (-4 from the last 5 holes) to overtake us).
That’s a fine score, especially after you were level par after 11 holes. Well played. The drinks are on me in the clubhouse bar. Get yourself something long and refreshing (where’s Moosey?) while you wait for the rest of us.
Before the official presentation ceremony begins I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all my fans who never stopped believing in me. Channeling my inner Rory McIlroy, I played those last few holes as badly as I possibly could. I am proud to accept the Wooden Spoon and look forward to defending it in a few weeks time. I couldn’t possibly be prouder.

Many congratulations to Hubes who led from the first hole to the last. Congratulations to Leedsboy for consistency across many tournaments now. Special mention to Black Celebration for his late surge and commiserations to Lodey for his calamitous last two holes.
Apart from the fact that my clubs are still at the bottom of a pond by the 18th green, I will have to see whether I can join in July, dependent on internet coverage in remote corners of Brittany.
Thanks Steve. Congratulations on running a great tournament. Hubes absolutely drenched Chiz and I on podium 3 with the winnerβs magnum of Tizer so we will have to get our plus fours dry cleaned before the next one.
Thanks for running the show Steve, The spreadsheet was a great innovation. Congratulations, we’ve had a quick conflab and you’ve won the job for next month!
Thanks Steve for a truly great tournament and I am truly humbled to have one. I thought that Leedsboy was a worthy opponent and I did worry that he would pull a rabbit from the hat.
Thank you all.
Cheers. I’m away next month, sunshine calls and though I’ll have the Internet I don’t want any stress of trying to wordle or play any other competitive games.
Follow me to the clubhouse I’m the one in the modest outfit.
As far as next month is concerned, I’d be happy to do the scoring again (the first half of the month is going to be quiet for me) or just as happy for someone else to do it if they wish.

I finished equal 9th I think. I may turn pro.
Thanks Steve and everybody, congrats to Hubes, who was so far out of sight of us back markers he might have been on a different course altogether.
I’m happy to take on the scoring next month, thought I’m not sure I can manage it Steve-style.
