      • My plan tomorrow is to follow Leedsboy’s “strategy is force” or whatever it is called theory. I’m pretty sure that involves using a safe starter, an even safer seconder and then applying my considerable powers of reasoning and logical deduction. I’m confidently expecting a birdie or who knows even an eagle leaving me well away from the Battle of Spoonie. Victory, well second bottom place, will be mine!

        • I’m pretty sure that as well as having the same first word as Leedsboy I have the same approach to the second word if the first one doesn’t produce much. And yet Leedsboy is currently second in the table while I am second bottom alongside you. The 9 shot difference between our scores can only be down to his excellent choices of letters after the routine decisions have been made. Good luck tomorrow. May the better (or less useless) of us take the glory of third bottom place (unless Diff continues his late surge (-4 from the last 5 holes) to overtake us).

  15. Before the official presentation ceremony begins I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all my fans who never stopped believing in me. Channeling my inner Rory McIlroy, I played those last few holes as badly as I possibly could. I am proud to accept the Wooden Spoon and look forward to defending it in a few weeks time. I couldn’t possibly be prouder.

    I’m happy to take on the scoring next month, thought I’m not sure I can manage it Steve-style.

  21. As far as next month is concerned, I’d be happy to do the scoring again (the first half of the month is going to be quiet for me) or just as happy for someone else to do it if they wish.
