I listened to the Steve Winwood one. It was enjoyable thanks. He talks about being at his most popular in the 80s and accusations of selling out and Jonesy says ‘I wouldn’t worry about that mate, that’s just a few trainspotters, most people don’t care.’ I thought, oh hello, that reminds me of some people I know who can be identified with the letters A and W.
I like the Jonesy podcasts, but there can be some embarrassing pauses during his interviews when he blanks at asking his guests relevant questions. He seems to work best where he has a confident articulate guest who can take over the show when Jones runs out of things to say. Henry Rollins and Dee Snider were both excellent doing this.
I like Jonesy’s totally unprofessional approach. The lack of questions, the off-topic tangents, the belching, the silly giggle. I’ve never listened to a whole show though, just the youtube video segments. He seems to be building up quite a reputation now as LA’s coolest radio host.
Will have a listen, I seem to recall a Brian Wilson one where he managed to get more words out of Bri than anyone since the 1960s (Bri admitted he’d never heard of the Sex Pistols – bless him..he probably slept through 1976-77 to be far)
Here’s another brilliant Gazza interview – love the mental image of him and Trent Reznor & co making small talk at their respective kids parties – and check his hardline view on social media – arise Sir Gareth of Numanshire!

Can someone tell an ignorant colonial who Jonesy is?
Steve Jones of the Sex Pistols. Ironically he often has to berate his guests if they accidentally swear on air.
Irony at its finest
