Was really looking forward to seeing him in Dublin not long before the pandemic. Came away feeling strangely underwhelmed
I saw Alison Krause and he did a 20 mins solo section and I felt the same way. He’s fabulous side man but I don’t find widdling on a dobro any more interesting than on any other instrument. After a minute or two I’ve had enough.
