Great story in this morning’s Times obit (one of the increasingly few reasons I keep my sub), about how JA helped Zero Mostel evade several of Joe McCarthy’s House of Unamerican Activities goons by dressing him up as woman.
Agree on all counts. I’ve decided to go in at season 4 and go from there. Can’t wait!
I had to give the Times up after episode 75 of Rayner’s House and currently I’m stuck with a subs to the Independent which is rubbish but I fell foul of a “cheap for 3 months” deal which ended and they signed me up for a year!
Ahh that’s it – I vaguely recalled he’d had a minor role in TWW and couldn’t remember what it was. Now that would have made for a wonderful spinoff a la Many Saints of Newark.
He only started his acting career in his 60s and he was a standout in ‘’The Sopranos’

Season 4 is a doozy – what a great idea to revisit it. I’m going to do the same!
