DogFaceBoy, Twang, the Cheshire Cat, Pencilsqueezer, Steerpike and El Hombre Malo struggle with technical gremlins and seasonal torpor to discuss the year past and the one to come. The Cat lives up to his fictional namesake by disappearing regularly and El Hombre wanders in the Skype wilderness before finding the way in. Nonetheless some highlights are identified, and in AW tradition an argument breaks out over Joanna Newsom.

You lucky lucky people. It would seem that I’ve been callously edited out.
I can hear the cheering from here.
Bastards. Tell you what Peter, let’s do our own Podder one day and just talk bollocks about some old crap WE like.
I can dig that Foxy.
Argh! I forgot! Sorry folks, I meant to join in.
Sorry Pencil, post in haste, repent at leisure. Oh for an edit function…you were thestring of the show!
Cancel this. Clean yer glasses. ?
String FFS. STAR
I’ve always wanted to be a thestring. Only a handful of days into the new year and an ambition accomplished already.
It’s gonna be all downhill from here.
The String was pulled?
They must have been following instructions from this auld geezer!

DADDY!
I apologise for being so grouchy on this but I was pissed off at spending 4 days of break from work with stinking cold rendering all food tasteless and with a hint on antiseptic
Thanks all, looking forward to listening. Many apologies again, too much life and not enough time at the moment.
We missed you Ruby. You might have saved it. .. ?
Somehow I doubt that. 😀
I listened to most of 2015’s podcasts (up to the mental health edition) whilst painting kids’ bedrooms over the ‘break’ and greatly enjoyed them all. Keep up the good work!
Disclaimer: Large-ish quantities of red wine was imbibed during the making of this podcast.
The big boys made me do it.
You sounded fine to me, Pencil, and you’re right about Back To The River – it’s great.
Well I wasn’t gonna bother, but I’m definitely going to listen now. Drunken ranting? Me likee!
That was easy Moosey. Fancy a game of Poker sometime.
Not a good idea. I’d be down to my pants in no time.
Before the game, in fact.
DFB, if you prefer Them over Van’s mystic whatnot, you’d probably love the His Band and the Street Choir album, which falls somewhere in between, and is mucho soulful.
Or indeed the Bang sessions* (BKA TB Sheets, Blowin Your Mind, Brown Eyed Girl And Ten Other Toe-Tappin’ Humdingers etc….)
*hurrrr
Ta, I may give that a shot. Think its just been released on that vinyl format all the kids are raving to.
*punches air*
I love the odd rambly-cast in amongst the more targeted ones. Didn’t need saving in the slightest.
Congratulations chaps, that cheered up my morning commute no end. Though how you managed to move from a harmless chinwag about popular music to a discussion on ladies underwear remains a mystery….
My normally forensic bordering on OCD editing approach was more slash and burn in the case of this cast as we had so many hassles with Skype of one sort or another. Glad peeps enjoyed it.

🙂
“I just had a ham shank” – @steerpike
It’s coming along. Lots of pinks and violets have been added this morning.
More reds and some touches of green being laid down this afternoon.
Nice!
It’s going to be very exciting to see it for the first time, because the brief was quite unspecific* I can’t even imagine in which direction you’ve gone with it!
* AFAICR…our e-mail conversation about it disappeared when the old computer died, so I can’t really remember exactly what I asked for… So you could put almost anything in it and claim that it was in my brief!
Very interesting cast. I listened last night. There was something missing, though. I can’t quite put my finger on it. It seemed to me alcohol was taken. Maybe drugs. At one point, I thought I heard a party popper. I swear the cat ate some cake. The women made their excuses, so that’s not it.
I know! There was no DJ. It can’t be a party without dancing.
