Its never ‘Just music’ and I knew from just seeing who wrote this piece that it wouldn’t be’ just music’. Nothing more important to me – don’t know Big Big Train but have heard of them which I guess is a start. Your wonderful report will push me to investigate further. Thanks Niall.

Thanks to apple music and the magic of the Internet, I’m giving them a go whilst sat in the evening sun in Menorca. With a cold beer. Despite the comments about sounding like Genesis. It’s going well so far….
There are hints of Genesis but I think they have their own unique sound which is hard to classify.
*blushes* Sometimes you want music that just sounds like “X” to explore further. That’s how I first decided to buy into Marillion when I heard snippets of their first LP playing in a record shop. I want to find out more about the band Citizen Cain for the same reason but they are quite elusive. I shall persevere.
I was there for the Sunday afternoon show today. It really was superb stuff. Bumped into Fraser (formally of the previous parish) who seems to be at every gig I go to these days.
Highly recommend checking them on Spotify or similar. The entry point seems to be English Electric Full Power. They also have a thriving Facebook community where I have followed some fantastic recommendations and discovered some real gems from around the world.
