It’s been a long drive, but they’re finally back home – although they’re selling the house.
That was a pitiful introduction, I’ll get me coat.

Looking forward to hearing this. Life’s Hard and Then You Die was a great album (nice reissue a few years ago) and Driving Away From Home one of my favourite singles of the eighties.
Ed’s Funky Diner – absolute gem.
My cd of House for Sale is on its way after a nice email from John Campbell
Was discussing Life’s Hard only this afternoon at work. I was asked if the album had dated and said I didn’t think it hard, it’s quite a gentle acousticy album so has aged very well I think:
Song is an absolute gem – one of my all-time favourite albums. Really looking forward to this one – it’s been a hard slog for them – the pledge fiasco, illness. But they’ve got there. I find that, in itself, quite moving.
Song has taken a long long time to be loved. I’m expecting to having to persist with the “new” album too but that’s perfectly ok. It was quite a, er, journey, you are correct Lando.
Contrarians that they are, they’ve omitted what I think is their best post-Song composition, Just Drive. Here it is for your enjoyment:
They do seem to resemble Flanagan & Allen in that newspaper photo, though.
But @colin-h, you misunderstand. That was their thing, their schtick. To resemble some music hall legends. Cuh, honestly!
I am agog with anticipation for the arrival of my copy.
I’ve moved 5 times since I originally pledged. There has been some problems with health, pressing, mastering etc so I’ve kept John up to date with my moves. Really looking forward to it!
Anyone’s album arrived yet? Mine hasn’t.
My copy arrived today. I’ve only had time to listen to the first few tracks, but it sounds lovely.
Grrr..,still waiting here. John Campbell said my pledge order nearly slipped through the net so maybe it’s delayed slightly. Great that it sounds lovely…Is it more “Song” than “Life’s Hard?”
It is more like Song, but it sounds a lot less bleak than that album.
Sounds good @carl, thanks. Took me ages to get into Song.
TBH, I never got into Song.
I should have held onto my copy and then I could see how I liked it now, but we all make mistakes.
My copy arrived today. Worth the wait.
Grrr!
Hopefully yours will arrive in the next day or two, but if it doesn’t PM me and we can make arrangements to ensure you at least have something to listen to.
@carl , that’s very kind. Just got home and grrrrr.
I’m sure it’s on it’s way though, somewhere on the M62 I reckon.
Itsy’s Facebook page says everything is on its way.
Hooray! It’s here and it is indeed rather lovely. Much more immediate than I thought it would be, only one play in.
Three plays in and really enjoying it. Perfect for an early autumn day, pootling around doing important low level jobs.
Anyone else liking it?
Yes indeed. Likely to be my favourite record of the year (although Blue Rose Code is also rather good).
