…that CSNY came to play.
14th September 1974,CSNY played Wembley Stadium to bring their world tour to a close.
Supporting acts included Joni Mitchell and The Band.
Their full set was pro-shot and is available on dvd of you know where to look.
Did any Afterworders attend this event?
Didn’t attend but what a show, especially with Joni there too. I have the DVD and the whole thing lifts off when it comes Neil’s turn to sing Old Man. Nothing demonstrates just how much bigger than the rest of them he was commercially than that moment.
I seem to recall that a few on the site attended this. I was indeed one of them.
Went to an Andy Kershaw book event he was asked if there was any acts he wished he’d seen.
“The Band and Joni Mitchell”
I told him I’d seen both
“Were you at that Wembley gig?, Bastard!”
I was lucky enough to be there. That`s it.
@pencilsqueezer was there too I believe
I was there, sat pretty much on the half way line. Sadly I wasn’t really aware of the Band at that time, whereas about a year later I was a big fan. I was a fan of Joni and of CSNY and they were both very good. My mate who was there with me, sadly now deceased, saw CS&N at the Royal Albert Hall probably in about 2013 and told me they were better the second time round
I saw that 2013 gig. Stills has virtually no voice but Crosby and Nash made up for it.
