Just a quickie. If you didn’t see Inside No 9 tonight it’s well worth watching on iPlayer. Brilliantly acted, spooky and, well, just fantastic all round.

Musings on the byways of popular culture
Was just superb television – moving, sweet and creepy. Sheridan Smith, Tom Riley and Michele Dotrice all shone – this deserves the praise and awards it has picked up. Reece and Steve should be very proud.
I just love the eccentricity between each week’s show, as was the case with the last series. Last week’s was also great but in a completely different way.
Also, it took me a while to remember but wasn’t Sheriden Smith’s dad the same actor who played Egg’s dad in This Life years ago.
It really chilled me to the bone: could hardly watch the bit at the end where she hugged her son for the last time. Such a heavy, nightmarish atmosphere hanging over the episode. I can see what all the fuss is about with Sheridan Smith now. Outstanding TV.
Just watched it, and glad Indidn’t leave it till late at night. Scary, funny and touching – wonderful television clearly made with love.
This season is turning out better than the first (where the only great episode was the silent one with the burglars and Dennis Lawson). Too many episodes last time evolved into something a bit nasty, whereas the 3 so far have all had a more human feel.
The end of the last episode (with the witchfinders) was worthy of Hammer at its best.
