In a longstanding tradition dating all the way back to 2021, the release of an Eisenhowers album is followed shortly thereafter by a collection of songs which, for one reason or another, didn’t quite make the final cut. In an alternative universe sometime in the 80s, these might have ended up being part of a double album, maybe with a gatefold sleeve designed by Hipgnosis, or whatever.
‘Infodemic’ is the companion piece to last year’s ‘Nudge Unit Blues’ (described by one reviewer as ‘deliciously sour’). The 11 songs in this collection lean heavily into some formative 80s influences like Simple Minds, David Bowie, Bill Nelson, Gary Numan and Japan. It’s available on Bandcamp and all the usual streaming services.
Here’s a track from the album. Your enjoyment of this piece may be enhanced if you picture the face of your own particular least-favourite politician.

Jolly good.
Nice one Raymond, will check it out. Btw don’t be a stranger – your Scottish football posts are still spoken of with awe Chez Bot..
Thank you to all at Bot Towers for those kind remarks! I still watch football in exotic locations like Whitburn, Linlithgow and Largs, but life gets in the way of blogging about it. I’ve been thinking recently, though, that I’d like to get back into the old habit …
The ‘Panel Show Prince’ -according to the definition I’m making up- is an oleaginous media whore, willing to adjust his principles in line with the views and prejudices of his paymasters. Here’s a song about him.
