These days I probably spend as much time listening to music in my car as anywhere else – but currently I use a Belkin plug-in thingy and it’s constantly being drowned out by interference/BBC Radio Wiltshire (pretty much the same thing)… can anyone recommend a simple (cheapish) kind of speakers that’ll just run off batteries/car charger and connect wifily/bluetoothly to one’s player?

This is what we use to listen to the TV with bluetooth headphones (even though it’s a Sony Android set that has bluetooth built in, it’s an anti-piracy thing. Just search and see how angry this makes people!)

If your car stereo doesn’t have an aux or bluetooth input, then you’re pretty much f***ed. I used to use one of those FM transmitter dongles, but finding a vacant channel to tune to is almost impossible these days.
If it has an aux input then this little device works extremely well with smartphones and doesn’t cost much.
If it has a bluetooth input then just about any smartphone will do the biz.
I just bought a JBL Flip stereo Bluetooth speaker from Dodgers which you could power off the lighter socket and Bluetooth to. Recommended by someone here actually. Great sound. That’d do you.
Is this a JBL Flip 3? Loud enough to be heard in a car doing 70?
I have one of these kinds of speakers, but it just isn’t loud enough for car use.
Get yourself a C Crane Digital FM transmitter. Look on ebay and you’ll find them. Might run you $60 or so but well, well worth it. Will transmit to any FM frequency you select and then just listen via your radio.
Here’s the best bit – do a search online and there’s a very easy hack you can do to it which increases its transmitting power.
